Activity 7 - A pan-Canadian Approach to Improving Soybean Sclerotinia Stem Rot Resistance
Activity Lead: Tanya Copley, CÉROM
Activity Description: This activity will improve the resistance of soybeans to Sclerotinia stem rot (SSR). Tools to identify Sclerotinia sclerotiorum will be developed so that S. sclerotiorum populations throughout Canada may be identified, mapped and evaluated. With this information, breeders will be able to identify soybean lines that are resistant to SSR, giving breeders the ability to incorporate current and novel SSR resistance genes into soybeans.
